OpenAI began a 28-day announcements campaign on 5 October 2026, with a scheduled end date of 1 November. The initiative combines improvements to Codex and ChatGPT Work with usage-limit resets, and its tracker also includes ChatGPT and API updates. This snapshot, dated 20 October, highlights useful changes and the conditions for accessing them. Tracker for 28 days of improvements and resets.
The selection covers interactive answers, faster text generation, suggestions for continuing conversations, creating assistants from a phone and a developer tool. The products need to be distinguished: a Chat feature does not necessarily appear in Codex, while an API capability needs an application to integrate it.
Once the 28 days are complete, Mis Redes will prepare a special report covering all the campaign’s announcements, including their features, access conditions and scope. This edition offers an initial snapshot while the initiative continues.
An answer you can explore
On 7 October, OpenAI introduced GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in ChatGPT. According to the announcement, answers can combine text with charts, buttons, forms and interactive tools. The company’s examples include a bill splitter and explanations where users can change inputs. GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for everyone.
For someone learning a concept, exploring a visual representation could be useful. That is an editorial assessment; it does not establish that every interactive answer is accurate. The format depends on the question. The rollout began on 7 October for the specified paid plans and expanded to Free and Go from 8 October. OpenAI states that this release applies to Chat and does not change the models in Work or Codex. GPT-6 and Intelligent UI for everyone.
Speed with access conditions
The official changelog dates the arrival of GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast in Codex and ChatGPT Work to 8 October. This mode speeds up text generation. Access includes the US$500 monthly Pro plan and eligible Enterprise and Edu plans; Enterprise workspace owners must enable it. ChatGPT and Codex changelog.
The speed guide distinguishes generation time from the complete task. A speed improvement therefore cannot be translated into a promise to finish every task sooner. Faster modes also have different usage conditions from Standard. Before using them, check your plan’s documentation and remaining allowance. Speed modes and usage.
Help continuing a conversation
Composer predictions, announced on 9 October, suggests a next message in the Codex desktop app. The suggestion is a draft: accept it, edit it or write something else. Accepting it does not send it. The beta is available to personal Pro users aged 18 and over in supported regions, in local or SSH threads with GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol. ChatGPT and Codex changelog Composer predictions in Codex.
Create an assistant from your phone
The dots update for the week of 5–9 October lets users create their assistant, customise its appearance and connect plugins from the mobile app. It also describes continuity with Codex tasks and management of ChatGPT Work automations. This expands ways to delegate work, subject to account access. Create your dot in the mobile app.
One suggested use would be following up on a research task and reviewing the assistant’s output. This is an editorial example. Before connecting tools, decide which information the task needs and review permissions. The existence of a feature does not establish that a particular account already has access.
An update for application developers
Decisions API entered public beta on 6 October. Its documentation describes checking conditions, choosing between options and scoring text or images. For example, an application could classify enquiries to route them to different teams. Implementation requires development; it is not a feature activated by a button in the chat. Usage-limit resets are also part of the campaign
The tracker brings together reset announcements and improvements. A reset restores limits within its scope; it does not turn a subscription into unlimited access. This edition does not certify which resets individual accounts received or reconstruct a complete calendar of all 28 days. Tracker for 28 days of improvements and resets.
The practical choice starts with a need: learning something, continuing a task or integrating a capability into an application. Then check the product, plan, region, rollout and usage conditions. Which change would you try first, and what for?
