The provider reports gains in speed and task costs over Sonnet 5. Accuracy and review time also matter when comparing tools.

Before switching AI tools, give the new one a task you know well.
Anthropic has introduced Claude Sonnet 5.5. Its announcement highlights improvements in speed and cost per task over Sonnet 5. These are the provider's results, so it is worth checking how the model handles your own work.
This carousel includes a suggested test using notes and a checklist for reviewing the result. Check the facts, look for omissions and count the time you spend making corrections. The test is illustrative; it was not run for this post.
Save the checklist for your next comparison.

How do you decide whether a new AI tool deserves your time?
The launch of Claude Sonnet 5.5 is a useful opportunity to compare tools on a familiar task. AWS has also confirmed availability through its services.
My suggestion: choose some notes without personal data and ask the tools you already use for the same summary. Then compare each response with the original. Check figures, missing points and the corrections needed. Measure the whole process, including your review.
This is a suggested test, not a result I have obtained. The performance figures in the carousel come from Anthropic. The saving per task it reports does not amount to a reduction in the monthly subscription price.
Which task would you use for a comparison: studying, writing or something else?
